This tutorial can work with layers, just be sure the layer background is transparent and it should work


Here a different version of my Paint Shop Pro glow effect tutorial, I use PSP 8, but any version will probably work.

Is there any way to make the glow rainbow, using a gradient...?

actually, I just figured out how to. Make another layer with the same image right below it in whatever color you want the glow to be (rainbow, for example) and gaussian blur it. then merge them. Ta da. :) Works with text i know, probably with shapes, but I havent tried that one out.
